Erica Penix (Rockford) recently became certified in respiratory therapy. Penix, a 2012 graduate of Rock Valley College, has been employed at Saint Anthony Medical Center the past eight years.
As a certified therapist, Penix is now positioned to provide an even higher level of respiratory care therapeutic treatments, related to the function of the heart and lungs for patients. Her credentials (CRT, ACLS, BLS, NRP) speak for themselves. “I’m finally doing something I love, and I am proud to say I save lives for a living,” said Penix. “I am a true testimony that if you work hard and have a great support team you can become whatever your heart desires.”
Penix says her goal is to become a traveling therapist once her son graduates high school. After both her kids graduate college, she plans to settle and enjoy life.
We salute this hard-working mom for pursuing her dreams. She’s well on her way.
