Rockford native, Vince Rideout, recently donated proceeds from his annual Black Party to support a great cause. A portion of the proceeds from the event were donated to the Diabetes Management Center at SwedishAmerican Hospital.
According to the American Diabetes Association, there are 20.8 million people or 7% of the population in the United States who have diabetes. While an estimated 14.6 million have been diagnosed, unfortunately, 6.2 million people are not aware that they have the disease.
The Diabetes Center at SwedishAmerican offers certified diabetes educators and registered licensed dietitians offer individual and group counseling in collaboration with physicians. Individuals can learn about their diabetes and what they can do to take control and live a healthier, happier life with diabetes. Rideout’s contribution will help this endeavor.
Rideout recently took to his Facebook page stating, “Once again thanks to everyone who purchased a ticket to last Saturdays Blackout Party 4 and everyone who worked and performed at this event made it possible to donate to charity.” Soul News Network salutes Rideout for being Out, About and Involved in the community.
