The Rockford School Board appointed former Rockford Park District Chief Financial Officer Stacie Talbert Scott to the position of Executive Director of Budget and Purchasing. She was appointed as a 12-month employee. This new position combines two positions in the district’s purchasing department as part of a restructuring.
According to the job description, the purpose of the position is to plan, organize and manage all activities related to the district’s purchasing, including procurement, materials management activities, purchase order workflow and Request for Quotation (RFQ) process. She will also manage the purchase of supplies, services and capital equipment to operate the Rockford Public Schools.
Talbert Scott will report to Chief Financial Officer Cedric Lewis. “Adding someone with Stacie’s professionalism from an organization as highly regarded in the community as the Park District, this is a big win for our team,” Lewis said.
Talbert Scott is a Rockford native and Auburn High School graduate who participated in the Creative and Performing Arts program. She has spent much of her career in Rockford or the Rockford region. She is looking forward to joining the administrative team that has already made positive strides in a community she calls home. “As I think about the evolution of our school district and the exciting new talent that is local and understands our community, I’m excited to bring my skills and talents to be part of it,” she said.
