VIDEO: Torrence featured in Housing Authority campaign

The old saying, “Been there. Done that.” may be cliché. But for Sergeant Eddie Torrence, it rings true. Torrence grew up in Rockford’s Fairgrounds Housing Projects and today he’s back to help others by doing what he can to be a positive influence to today’s young residents. “They will tell me I don’t know what it’s like being a young black person in poverty, but I can say I was there,” he says.

As a leader in the Rockford Police Department, Torrence lends his story as part of the Housing Authority’s campaign which focuses on REVITALIZE. RENEW. RESPECT. Check it out…
